Ladies Tailor is a remake of a 1986 Telugu movie of the same name, directed by Vamsy and starring Rajendra Prasad and Archana. The Telugu movie was a hit and was also dubbed in Tamil and remade in Kannada and Marathi. The Hindi remake was directed by Udyakanth and written by Faiz Saleem. The plot of the movie revolves around Mehboob (Sanjeev Kumar), a ladies tailor who works in Mumbai's high profile tailoring shop stitching clothes for many film actresses for their films. Mehboob has to face many challenges and obstacles to win Nikhat's heart and fulfill his dreams.
The movie is a comedy of errors and misunderstandings, with Mehboob getting into trouble with various people due to his lies and tricks. He also has to deal with the rivalry of Asif (Deven Verma), a local tailor who is jealous of Mehboob's skills and popularity.
